Prayer for a Catholic Monarchy — July 4, 2016

Prayer for a Catholic Monarchy

Hail, Almighty and Eternal God, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost!
From Thy Providence, we have received the right to the gifts of truth, beauty, and goodness
and the privilege of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Queen of Heaven,
the Immaculate Conception,
as the Patroness and Owner of our country.
We beseech Thee, O Glorious King,
for the graces and virtues to defend Thy Holy Catholic Church.
Imbue in Thy sons and daughters,
a valiant Catholic counterrevolutionary Spirit against the masonic Revolution
so that the sweet Name of Thy Jesus, Our Beloved,
rings forever in Churches, Chapels, Parishes, Cathedrals, street corners, schools, homes,
and in the hearts of men.
Grant us, O Heavenly Father, assistance from the Majestic Queen Mary,
the courageous knight St. Michael the Archangel,
the heavenly Host of Angels,
and from all the Church Triumphant in our daily battles with the enemy.
With them, help us crush him under our feet and overcome every obstacle to Thee
and to our salvation,
that after this land becomes “one kingdom under GOD, the Most Blessed Trinity, eternal,
with truth, beauty, and goodness for all”,
it will be a vehicle to lead souls to Thee.
We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ, Thy Son, who liveth and reigneth with Thee in
unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world, without end.
Amen.

Love In Prison — March 25, 2016

Love In Prison

(Happy Good Friday! Heureux Vendredi Saint!)

O my Jesus, O my Love, where art Thou?

I do not see Thee Whom my soul loves.

Where art Thou, King of Love?

Where art Thou?

In Thy Holy House?

In the Temple of Thy Birth?

In the home of Lazarus?

In Thy Church?  Not even in the tabernacle art Thou hidden!  Thou hast been taken!

O my Love, where art Thou?

O my Love, where art Thou?

In the deepest recesses of my heart?

For Thou sayest, “The kingdom of God is within you.”

Then, O my Jesus!

By Thy grace,

A bridal chamber of flowers and caresses, my room shall be!

Nay, not my room only!

My heart, too!

Let Thy Heaven be in my heart.

That Thou wouldst have a place to lay Thy Head as Thou desirest, O my sweet and Beautiful Jesus!

And yet not even so my Love, not even so!

Thou art Home,

With Thy Heavenly Father, Thy Holy Spirit of Love, and with Thy Angels, along with Thy Saints and Thy Holy Mother,

In the Land of fragrances, flowers, and perfumes, a Land of endless delight!

In earthly exile, I stay, imprisoned in Thy bridal chamber,

Watching and waiting for Thee, O my Spouse, to visit, resting upon Thy Heart, when upon The path of roseless thorns,

Hoping that on the Day of Thy return, Thou wilt call…

And bring me Home, resting in Thee and Thy Heart.

The Confraternity of Jesus, King of Love — March 20, 2016

The Confraternity of Jesus, King of Love

Origin of the Devotion

The devotion to Jesus, King of Love began on August 17th, 1922, when Our Lord manifested Himself to Yvonne Beauvais, a young French woman sojourning in the monastery of the Augustinian Canonesses of the Mercy of Jesus at Malestroit in Brittany, France.  Addressing Yvonne, Jesus said: Morning and evening say, O Jesus, King of Love, I put my trust in Thy loving mercy.

On March 18, 1927, Yvonne Beauvais entered the community of Malestroit, and on September 29, 1931, she pronounced her perpetual vows as Mother Yvonne-Aimée de Jésus. After a life of extraordinary love and of great sufferings accepted in faith, the King of Love called Mother Yvonne-Aimée to Himself on February 3, 1951.

The Little Invocation Spreads

At first, the Little Invocation to Jesus, King of Love spread by word of mouth. Then, simple bookmarks appeared, bearing the text of the invocation with an image of the Sacred Heart.  In 1932 the Bishop of Vannes, France, approved the invocation for his diocese. The following year, Pope Pius XI indulgenced the prayer for the Augustinian Canonesses of the Mercy of Jesus, for their sick and for those hospitalized under their care. Pope Pius XII renewed the favour and, on December 6, 1958, Blessed John XXIII extended it to the universal Church.

In 1940, during the dark hours of World War II, Mother Yvonne-Aimée designed a medal and an image to make the Little Invocation even better known and loved. She chose to depict Our Lord as a lovable little boy of two or three years of age.

His expression is compassionate and tender; He is completely approachable. The crown signifies His kingship; the olive branch, the gifts of healing and of peace that He offers; with His other hand He points to His Heart overflowing with tender mercy.

Its Healing Grace

The devotion to Jesus, King of Love is especially consoling to adults having suffered from some trauma in childhood such as physical, emotional, or sexual abuse.

The Child King is not threatening. The child living inside the emotionally wounded adult can accept the embrace of the little King of Love. One traumatized in childhood can allow the Little King to come close and absorb into the innocence of His Divine Childhood the shattered innocence that continues to cause fear, shame, and an inability to keep oneself safe.

At the same time, Jesus, King of Love restores to souls the innocence that was lost in childhood, or stolen, or cruelly defiled.

At Silverstream Priory

On August 6, 2012, Silverstream Priory was consecrated to Jesus, King of Love; His statue was placed in the monastic oratory.

As more and more people became attracted to the image of Jesus, King of Love, and learned to pray the Little Invocation, the monks were inspired to offer them the spiritual benefits of a Confraternity.

What is a Confraternity?

It is a family of souls who recognize each other as brothers and sisters graced by God with the same spiritual affinity, and who seek to share with one another the powerful support that comes from union in prayer.

Why a Confraternity?

There is comfort in knowing that one is not praying alone. Sacred Scripture says that a brother that is helped by his brother, is like a strong city (Proverbs 18:19). The fact that other souls are praying the Little Invocation throughout the day and even in the night is a source of strength in moments of weakness, and of hope in times of suffering.

Our Lord’s own words can be applied to the prayer that unites members of the Confraternity: I say to you, that if two of you shall consent upon earth, concerning any thing whatsoever they shall ask, it shall be done to them by my Father who is in heaven. For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them(Matthew 18:19-20).

What are the Obligations of a Member?

There are no obligations apart from the recitation of the Little Invocation morning and evening each day, and the wearing of the medal of the King of Love, or the keeping of it on one’s person. The only bond between members is the confidence they share in Jesus, King of Love. There are no meetings.

What are the Benefits?

The principal benefit of membership in the Confraternity is one’s spiritual union with an international family of childlike souls of all ages who pray the Little Invocation daily for themselves and for each other.

Holy Mass is offered for the living and deceased members of the Confraternity on the first Wednesday of the month, as well as on five other days:

  • January 3, Feast of the Holy Name of Jesus (Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite);
  • January 19, Feast of the Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple;
  • January 23, Feast of the Espousals of the Blessed Virgin Mary;
  • February 2, Feast of the Presentation of the Child Jesus in the Temple; and
  • February 3, the anniversary of the death of Mother Yvonne-Aimée de Jésus.

New members will receive a blessed medal and image of Jesus, King of Love, as well as a booklet containing the story of the devotion’s origin, instruction on how to pray the Little Invocation, a biography of Mother Yvonne-Aimée de Jésus, and a treasury of prayers to Jesus, King of Love.

Who may join?

Membership is open to all those who desire to respond to the tender invitation of Jesus, King of Love to place their trust in the merciful goodness of His Heart. The Confraternity is, therefore, open to men, women, and children of all ages.

  • Parents may enroll children as soon as they are able to say the invocation: O Jesus, King of Love, I put my trust in Thy loving mercy.
  • The Confraternity reaches out to men and women who have suffered physical, emotional, or sexual abuse as children, and, by means of the Little Invocation, intercedes for their healing and restoration to wholeness and to peace of heart.
  • The Confraternity reaches out to men and women currently struggling with deeply rooted patterns of sin, emotional pain, anxiety, addiction, and loneliness.
  • The Confraternity reaches out to the sick, the chronically ill, and the elderly, offering them the image of the King of Love, and inviting them to say the Little Invocation.
  • The Confraternity reaches out to those who find daily prayer difficult, and by proposing the Little Invocation to them, seeks to make them familiar with the divine friendship of the King of Love.

How does one join the Confraternity?

One joins the Confraternity by applying in writing to its Secretariat at Silverstream Priory, Stamullen, County Meath, Ireland.

Silverstream Priory’s bookstore also distributes hand-carved wood statues of the King of Love in various sizes, as well as medals and images of the King of Love.

Jesus Crucified, The Triumph And Victory of Love — March 12, 2016

Jesus Crucified, The Triumph And Victory of Love

O Jesus Crucified,
Love’s Triumph,
Love’s Victory,
In the garb of defeat, shame, humiliation!
In the Battle over good and evil, life and death,
The Battle to win hearts,
Love is stronger than death!
Mightier than a two edged sword!
Defeating the blackened enemy!
Destroying him at the foot of the Precious Body on the Cross!
O Divine Majesty of Love!
Tis’ Thy enemy crushed under the Sign of sweet, endless Love!
O Jesus Crucified,
Love’s Perpetual Glory,
Love’s Eternal Majesty,
In appearance of simple, humble humanity!
Thy sweet Foundation, Thy boat along the watery waves to Heavenly Shore,
Opens pilgrims to Thy Kingdom on earth!
A shiny, glassy reflection of Thy Kingdom to come!
Thy Kingdom forever eternal,
Its mystery sung among Thy heavenly Choirs!

O Good God and King! — December 6, 2015

O Good God and King!

O Divine King with the pierced Heart,

I crown Thee with many crowns…

Of roses, my Love!

Of lilies, my Honor!

Of daises, my Joy!

Of violets, my Beloved!

Of tulips, my Sweetness!

Of sunflowers, my Delight!

Of bluebonnets, my Precious!

Of the earth’s bounty,

I give Thee,

Strawberries, Blueberries, grapes,

And many other sweet things,

All for Thee!

Of Heaven’s bounty,

I ask the Saints

To join Our Lady and the Angels,

To raise up the fragrance of the voices

Of the many canticles of love,

Sung to Thee,

For Thy glory,

Thy honor,

Thy joy!

All on my behalf!

For nothing I say,

Expresses the love

I have for Thee,

O Good God and King!

An Act of Oblation As A Victim of Divine Love by St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face — November 15, 2015

An Act of Oblation As A Victim of Divine Love by St. Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face

(from Christian Classics Ethereal Library: http://www.ccel.org/ccel/therese/autobio.xxix.i.html)

O my God, O Most Blessed Trinity, I desire to love Thee and to make Thee loved—to labour for the glory of Holy Church by saving souls here upon earth and by delivering those suffering in Purgatory. I desire to fulfill perfectly Thy Holy Will, and to reach the degree of glory Thou hast prepared for me in Thy Kingdom. In a word, I wish to be holy, but, knowing how helpless I am, I beseech Thee, my God, to be Thyself my holiness.

Since Thou hast loved me so much as to give me Thy Only-Begotten Son to be my Saviour and my Spouse, the infinite treasures of His merits are mine. Gladly do I offer them to Thee, and I beg of Thee to behold me only through the Eyes of Jesus, and in His Heart aflame with love. Moreover, I offer Thee all the merits of the Saints both of Heaven and of earth, together with their acts of love, and those of the holy Angels. Lastly, I offer Thee, O Blessed Trinity, the love and the merits of the Blessed Virgin, my dearest Mother—to her I commit this Oblation, praying her to present it to Thee.

During the days of His life on earth her Divine Son, my sweet Spouse, spake these words: “If you ask the Father anything in My Name, He will give it you.”275 Therefore I am certain Thou wilt fulfill my longing. O my God, I know that the more Thou wishest to bestow, the more Thou dost make us desire. In my heart I feel boundless desires, and I confidently beseech Thee to take possession of my soul. I cannot receive Thee in Holy Communion as often as I should wish; but, O Lord, art Thou not all-powerful? Abide in me as Thou dost in the Tabernacle—never abandon Thy Little Victim. I long to console Thee for ungrateful sinners, and I implore Thee to take from me all liberty to sin. If through weakness I should chance to fall, may a glance from Thine Eyes straightway cleanse my soul, and consume all my imperfections—as fire transforms all things into itself.

I thank Thee, O my God, for all the graces Thou hast granted me: especially for having purified me in the crucible of suffering. At the Day of Judgment I shall gaze on Thee with joy, as Thou bearest Thy sceptre of the Cross. And since Thou hast deigned to give me this precious Cross as my portion, I hope to be like unto Thee in Paradise and to behold the Sacred Wounds of Thy Passion shine on my glorified body.

After earth’s exile I trust to possess Thee in the Home of our Father; but I do not seek to lay up treasures in Heaven. I wish to labour for Thy Love alone—with the sole aim of pleasing Thee, of consoling Thy Sacred Heart, and of saving souls who will love Thee through eternity.

When comes the evening of life, I shall stand before Thee with empty hands, because I do not ask Thee, my God, to take account of my works. All our works of justice are blemished in Thine Eyes. I wish therefore to be robed with Thine own Justice, and to receive from Thy Love the everlasting gift of Thyself. I desire no other Throne, no other Crown but Thee, O my Beloved!

In Thy sight time is naught—”one day is a thousand years.”276 Thou canst in a single instant prepare me to appear before Thee.

* * * * * * *

In order that my life may be one Act of perfect Love, I offer myself as a Victim of Holocaust to Thy Merciful Love, imploring Thee to consume me unceasingly, and to allow the floods of infinite tenderness gathered up in Thee to overflow into my soul, that so I may become a very martyr of Thy Love, O my God! May this martyrdom, after having prepared me to appear in Thy Presence, free me from this life at the last, and may my soul take its flight—without delay—into the eternal embrace of Thy Merciful Love!

* * * * * * *

O my Beloved, I desire at every beat of my heart to renew this Oblation an infinite number of times, “till the shadows retire,”277 and everlastingly I can tell Thee my love face to face.

MARY FRANCES TERESA OF THE CHILD JESUS AND OF THE HOLY FACE.

The ninth of June, Feast of the Most Blessed Trinity, In the year of grace, 1895.
